We had a full day, so thought I’d take Carol out for dinner. Drove down Solano Avenue in Berkeley … kept going and ended up at a favorite neighborhood place, Sophia Cafe. Yes, it’s in Albany, but the evening was a very Berkeley experience.
Brought our iPad and a Time Out Book for Buenos Aires (we’re thinking of going there one day) .. and struck up a conversations with a graceful man by the name of Hugo.
Hugo saw our book, said he was from Brazil but lived in Buenos Aires for 3 months, and loved it there.
The conversation was part English, part Spanish, and covered Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Santiago .. which then expanded to Amsterdam … all in an Israeli Restaurant.
